Honda Cadet Challenge Cup – Kimbolton Circuit

Guest round for Honda Cadet at the TKM Festival

After a great weekend at Kartmasters, Josh and the team headed to Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire for the Honda Cadet Challenge Cup, which was a special one-off race alongside the TKM Festival. With no championship points up for grabs, it was a chance to have a fun weekend racing and put in everything he has learnt the past month from the big race meetings.

Warm up/Practice

He had a strong practice day with the support of Jan from Project One East Anglia, as well as Kath and the RSR Team.

Qualifying & Heats

A great qualifying session with Josh taking pole position with a time 3 tenths faster than the next competitor! A very close first heat, with Josh and Rocco Shenton pushing away from the field, with Rocco just snatching the win by 0.04 of a second! Things swapped around for the next 2 heats, with Josh narrowly taking the victories after some very close racing!

A Final

The Final –

Going off pole for the pre-final, Josh and Rocco worked well together to get a huge gap from the chasing pack! Josh took the win by a close margin again. The Grand Final was a cracking race between the pair, with both drivers giving each other respect but also racing at their best! Josh was leading into the first corner on the last lap but just slightly missed the corner and Rocco had a great exit and managed to take the lead and defended well with Josh not able to find a gap past. Congratulations to Rocco Shenton for the win! 2nd for Josh this time, but still an awesome race!
