Strong Performance at PFI!

PF Challenge Cup

After his victory at Whilton, Joshua was ready for the challenge at PFI against some of the most competitive Honda Cadet drivers in the UK, with the support of Project One East Anglia and Kath Sore of RSR.

Heats

This race meeting included timed qualifying which set the starting positions for the heat races. A short 5 minute session made it tricky for all drivers to get the perfect lap in. P10 was the result for Joshua out of the 36 entered. A strong position to progress from in the races! Disaster struck though in Heat 1 with an incident a few laps in which knocked Joshua down to 24th – not the best start to the day. Nonetheless, Joshua got his head down for Heat 2 and drove a sensible race to secure a solid P9 finish.

The Final

Due to the incident in Heat 1, this impacted the starting position for the Final, with Joshua down in P18. However, after a pep talk from mentor and mechanic Kath to go along with a great kart and engine package from P1 East Anglia, Joshua got his head down and started moving up the order. He set the 3rd fastest lap time on his way through the pack and eventually crossed the line in 9th place! An excellent result from starting so far back.

Next Time…

Overall, the weekend ended on a high after facing some challenges throughout the races. Joshua continues to prove he is capable of being in the front pack at each circuit. Onto Kimbolton!
