Joshua wins double header at Red Lodge

Red Lodge – Round 6 & 7

Due to Covid this week we had a DOUBLE HEADER. Round 6 on Saturday and Round 7 on Sunday. Only went and won BOTH days and took another hew tenths off the lap record (which I set the previous month!) This was a MEGA weekend!!!

Race Report (from Club 2000 program)

We were blessed with some early September sun for the double header weekend and what a weekend it was. With FOUR lap records (five if you count the fact that Alfie Campbell smashed the Mini Max record on Saturday then shaved off even more time on Sunday!

Congratulations to Septembers lap record breakers:

Honda – Joshua Smith: 45.97
Junior Rotax – Emily Jackson: 40.48
Mini Max – Alfie Campbell: 41.66
Senior Rotax – Ben Maxim: 39.58

HONDA

Another fantastic outing by Joshua Smith (15) as well as smashing the Honda lap record, he took 1st place in every heat and both finals proving he is a force to be reckoned with! Hayden Gray (16) was hot on his heels all weekend, taking 2nd in nearly all heats and both finals; Jenson Mason (58) worked hard to snatch it from him in heat 1 on the Saturday. The battle for 3rd place on Saturday was generally fought between Jenson Mason (58) and Luke Bate (9), while on Sunday, Luke’s feisty adversary was Ollie Clark-Ward (4).

Round 6: Jenson Mason (58) claimed the fastest Honda lap of the day with a 46.33 in Heat 3; Joshua Smith (15) achieved the fastest average speed of 57.10mph in Qualifying.

Round 7: Joshua Smith (15) claimed the fastest Honda lap of the day and the Honda lap record with a 45.97. He also achieved the fastest average speed of 58.29mph in qualifying.

1st Joshua Smith (15)
2nd Hayden Gray (16)

Round 7
